It is a relatively niche product, but everyone in the industry knows it, because picks are consumables and are also a best-selling product in the market. Brand competition is very fierce. First of all, from the perspective of industry use, picks can be roughly divided into two categories: mining picks and engineering picks. The so-called mining picks are picks used in coal mines, which are coal mining cutting tools. Engineering picks are mainly used in highway engineering.

1. Mining picks

Mining picks are tools for cutting coal seams by mining machinery such as tunneling machines and coal mining machines, usually used in conjunction with tooth seats and tooth sleeves. According to the shape, mining picks are divided into two types: pick-shaped picks and knife-shaped picks.

The pick-shaped pick is cone-shaped, also called conical pick, which consists of a tooth head, a tooth shoulder, and a tooth handle. The knife-shaped pick is a flat pick, which is similar to the cutter body. Both types of picks are used for mining machinery, that is, mining picks.

According to different types of mining machinery, the types of picks can be divided into: coal mining machine picks, tunneling machine picks, continuous mining machine picks, anchor mining machine picks, etc.

1. Coal mining machine picks: Mining picks are one of the vulnerable parts in coal mining and tunneling machinery, and are the main tools for dropping and crushing coal. The hardness of the pick body is 40~45HRC, and the impact toughness is not less than 49J/cm2. During the production process, the pick body material should be heat treated to meet or exceed the required mechanical performance indicators.

2. Coal mining machine pick models: U47, U75, U80 series (U82, U84, U85), U90 series (U92, U94, U95), U170, etc.

3. Roadheader pick: Roadheader pick is the main cutting tool on the cutting head (gun head) of the roadheader. It is installed on the cutting head with the tooth seat and is one of the vulnerable parts of tunnel excavation. Its performance directly affects the production capacity of the roadheader, power consumption, working stability and the service life of other related parts.

2. Engineering pick
The application environment of engineering pick is completely different from that of mining pick. One is on the road surface and the other is underground. One is an accessory for engineering machinery and the other is an accessory for mining machinery. According to the different types of machinery, engineering picks can be roughly divided into: rotary drilling machine picks, milling machine picks, etc.

Rotary drilling machine refers to a pile driver, and its picks are installed on the drill bit of the rotary drilling machine. Milling machine refers to a road milling machine, which is one of the main types of asphalt pavement maintenance and construction machinery.
